“Vision is the art of seeing what is invisible to others.”
— Jonathan Swift
My name is Bob Fortner and I specialize photographing the built environment for architects, builders, designers and marketing firms. My studio is based in the Raleigh, NC area.
I'm well known for my creative compositions and ability to carefully balance a delicate combination of mostly natural light and just enough flash photography to produce realistic images that reveal the style, texture and character that the interior designer, architect, or builder created.
My compositions focus on using the architectural lines and geometry of the space to reveal a true sense of volume and flow to the viewer. Using and shaping available light, each photograph is carefully crafted to express in very realistic and authentic terms what it is like to be IN the space.
The images I create are designed to tell a story. The viewer of each photograph gains a tremendously accurate understanding of what it is like to enjoy the design and functionality of the space.
You can find my work used in advertising, both on the web and in print.
